I'm good with scrapping spin doctors. I can appreciate that they can are annoying. I'm down with wallflowers and eagle eye cherry.

we need to lock down specifics for our pre band bar gig. given the timeing - I think we would be better off doing something late april - early may - we could use the time to practice. plus we should probably keep our old covers fresh too, so that we have more material.

Also, we need to keep dana's songs in mind, keep "hit me" fresh, and "Don't stop" - we should also think about "warrior" too... what do you guys think?

when can we next get together?

oh. and I think the keytar should be here for the next practice, hopefully. So we need to figure out which songs fit for using... immediately I'm thinking "Don't Stop" and "Living on a prayer" though I don't know that we can handle the vocals for "living"... think about it!

Headache Just Thinking About It

Please no Spin Doctors. I picture their lead singer and I just fantasize about wanting to slap him. I will always turn the dial on the radio if I hear 'Two Princes'. I can't willingly be a part of playing that song. I can honestly say that it is on my top 10 songs that I loathe the most. I think that song is playing in hell 24-7. Other than that, I love it!

I dig Fall Out Boy's sound. 'Sugar, We're Goin Down' or 'Thnks fr th Mmrs'. They have several songs that I like.

'When I Come Around' is ok. I like 'She' better. Listen to all of 'Know Your Enemy' from their latest album. That would get my vote if we were to cover another Green Day song.

I'm not entirely on board with any songs by The Cure at this point. 'Just Like Heaven' is my favorite, but even that song disappeared from the radar from the get-go.

Third Eye Blind might be what Gin Blossoms was for me last year. Not a huge fan, but I quite enjoyed it in the long run. I think 'Semi-Charmed Life' or 'Jumper' is worth a shot.

What do you guys think of 'Bring Me To Life' by Evanescence? Can Dana carry that song? Just a thought... Also, Joel told me he was interested in 'Shine' by Collective Soul.

Sugar We're Going Down - Fall Out Boy

My suggestions are:
Sugar We're Going Down - Fall Out Boy
Two Princes - Spin Doctors
When I Come Around - Green Day
Friday I'm in Love - The Cure

re: eric's picks - I'm liking (in order):
Interstate Love Song - STP What I Got - Sublime
Meant To Live - Switchfoot
Inside Out - Eve 6

re: J's pick - I like it
take me out - franz ferdinand

I like Buddy Holly over Say It Ain't So - I feel Buddy Holly is a little more upbeat
Say It Ain't So and Jumper are a little depressing in my mind - one is about heartbreak and the other is about a suicidal friend...

There are a few songs that I thought might be interesting for us to try...
Blue Monday - New Order/Orgy
Semi-Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind

I Gotta Feelin - Black Eyed Peas

that last one sounds doable for us, but it's more of a crowd pleaser than a song I really want to do (read: not passionate about it) but I do like blue monday (especially the rock version) and semi-charmed...

I'll try to get all of the songs that we have on the list onto the website. Someone remind me though... I'm at work now and can't do it remotely...

FYI - I've got my "old" tower hooked up in the florida room so we can record directly to the computer. also, we can record track over track... you'll see what I mean next practice - but it's exciting... at least for me.

Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand

Regarding Eric's picks so far, I would lean toward...
Interstate Love Song - STP
Say It Ain't So - Weezer
Meant To Live - Switchfoot

I'd also like to suggest Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand. It's almost like two separate songs that starts as an indie-rock song and settles into a pounding dance groove.
